Student Support
Support for Students with Disabilities
Basic Approach
- Aiming to foster individuals who, after entering society, challenge themselves to live independently while pursuing their personal goals.
- Striving to create a campus culture where all students and staff naturally offer support and show empathy toward fellow students who may face difficulties or challenges, ensuring a shared sense of mutual assistance throughout the university.
Nagano University's facilities and support system were not in place from the beginning but were developed in response to the voices of many graduates and current students with disabilities. Our university has had a diverse population of students with disabilities, each with unique needs. At the same time, students without disabilities and faculty members live and learn together on the same campus. Nagano University's approach to supporting students with disabilities focuses on collaboration between the university community and organization to implement appropriate support systems for each individual and solve challenges one by one.
One of the university’s key characteristics, cultivated over more than 40 years, is this culture of "inclusive attitudes." Moving forward, we will continue to value student feedback and work toward building an even better support system.
